Acupuncture

Acupuncture involves the insertion of fine needles into acupuncture points on the body. These points are wells of energy or “qi” that have been mapped out for over 2,000 years. Where “qi” is not flowing or strong, disease may develop or pain might ensue. After insertion, the needles are gently stimulated to produce a distending sensation around the point and along the channel to clear and balance the meridian.

Acupuncture may speed the recovery of surgeries and physical therapy in addition to treating common colds and more complex ailments. It promotes tissue healing, boosts the immune system and increases the release of endorphins in the body. Only sterile, disposable, stainless steel needles are used.  Often, we don’t acknowledge our health until it is compromised. It is then that we begin to seek ways to regain it. Acupuncture may serve as a tool to assist one to get better, and also serve as a tool to prevent an imbalance.

Electro-Acupuncture

Electro-Acupuncture is the use of small electrical currents through the acupuncture needles. It is often used in conjunction with acupuncture to enhance a treatment. Electro-Acupuncture has been proven to decrease pain, accelerate tissue healing, and significantly reduce inflammation, edema, and swelling.
